Therapy

Lext Kuntz overlooking the mountains

What if therapy felt different than you imagined?

Have you been waiting for the "right" time to start?

If so, you're not alone.

One of the biggest misconceptions about therapy is that you have to be in crisis before you deserve support.

The truth is, therapy isn't only for life's hardest moments.

It's also for the person who wants to better understand themselves, create healthier patterns, navigate life with more confidence, strengthen relationships, process difficult experiences, or simply live more intentionally.

Therapy is an investment in yourself.

Not because you're broken.

Because you're human.

And every person deserves the opportunity to understand themselves.

What therapy looks like here.

I believe therapy should feel like a conversation, not an interrogation.

A place where you can be honest without fear of judgment.

A place where curiosity matters more than perfection.

Some days we'll celebrate your progress.

Some days we'll sit with difficult emotions.

Some days we'll challenge long-held beliefs, explore old patterns, or practice new ways of responding to life's challenges.

No two sessions look exactly the same because no two people are exactly the same.

Together, we'll continue moving toward a better understanding of you.

Because understanding creates choice.

And choice creates meaningful change.

Therapy isn't ...

Therapy isn't about someone telling you how to live your life.

It isn't about having a magic wand that makes life's challenges disappear.

It isn't about staying the same.

And it isn't about becoming someone different.

Therapy is about creating the space to better understand yourself, recognize the patterns that no longer serve you, and begin making intentional choices that align with the person you want to become.

Peeling back the layers.

Many of us spend years adapting to life without even realizing it.

We develop habits, beliefs, coping strategies, and protective patterns that once served a purpose.

Over time, those layers can make it harder to recognize who we are underneath.

I often think of therapy like peeling back the layers of an onion.

Together, we'll gently explore what's beneath those layers—not to judge them, but to understand them.

With greater understanding comes greater choice.

And with greater choice comes the opportunity to live more authentically.

What to expect during your first session.

The first session is all about getting to know you.

We’ll talk about what life has been like recently, your relationships, your support system, your current coping strategies, and what you're hoping will feel different through our work together.

I'll ask thoughtful questions to better understand your story, your strengths, and your goals.

Before we end, I'll always provide at least one practical takeaway—whether that's a reflection question, coping strategy, mindfulness exercise, or a small action step to begin practicing before our next session.

You don't have to prepare the perfect answers.

You simply have to show up as you are.

Growth happens between sessions.

One hour each week can create meaningful insight.

The other 167 hours are where those insights begin shaping your everyday life.

That's why I often provide reflection questions, worksheets, practical exercises, mindfulness strategies, or coping skills to continue the work outside of session.

These are always encouraged, never required.

I don't think of them as homework.

I think of them as intentional practice.

Because the more honest you can be with yourself, and the more consistently you practice, the more meaningful your growth can become.

Meaningful change isn't built in one session.

It's built through small, intentional choices practiced consistently over time.

How we'll work together

My role isn't to tell you who to become.

My role is to help you better understand yourself so you can make choices that align with your values, your needs, and the life you want to create.

I'll meet you where you are.

I'll help you better understand where you've been.

I'll encourage you to become curious instead of judgmental.

I'll challenge you when growth calls for it.

And I'll support you as you build the confidence and skills to continue navigating life long after therapy ends.

Because my goal isn't for you to need therapy forever.

My goal is for you to leave therapy feeling more capable, more self-aware, and more confident in your ability to navigate the human experience.

Is therapy right for me?

Therapy isn't about having all the answers before you begin.

You don't need confidence to start.

You don't need clarity.

You don't even need to know exactly what you want to talk about.

You simply need a willingness to show up honestly, become curious, and take the next step.

If you're ready to invest in yourself, better understand who you are, and begin creating healthier patterns, therapy may be one of the greatest gifts you ever give yourself.

Ready to begin?

You don't have to know exactly where this journey will lead.

You only have to decide whether you're ready to take the first step.

I'll meet you where you are, help you understand where you've been, and support you as you decide where you want to go.
